I am fasting to make up for Ramadan; my husband invited me to his bed, even though I had asked his permission before fasting, but he insisted on me. Do I owe an expiation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman says: I am fasting to make up for Ramadan, and my husband invited me to his bed, even though I had asked his permission before fasting, but he insisted on me. Do I owe an expiation?

The Shaykh : The expiation is not obligatory except for one who has intercourse during the day in Ramadan and is one upon whom fasting is obligatory. Therefore, there is no expiation for making up fasts. However, it is not permissible for her to respond to her husband if she had begun making up the fasts with his permission, because once she began making up the fasts, the fasting became what? It became obligatory. And it is an obligation of which the husband was aware. He has no excuse. It is forbidden for the husband to invite her to the bed while she is fasting an obligatory fast with his permission, because he has no excuse. But if she fasted without his permission, then yes, he may invite her, and she has no right to refuse him, because the husband’s right in this case remains.
Yes.
