The questioner : The honorable Shaykh says: Some people are lax in the prayer of 'Id al-Adha while being keen on the prayer of 'Id al-Fitr. We seek guidance?
The Shaykh : I say: It is not permissible to be lax in the prayer of 'Id, neither 'Id al-Fitr nor 'Id al-Adha, because the stronger position is that the prayer of 'Id is an individual obligation for men. And whoever does not pray it is sinful. It is obligatory for every man to pray the prayer of 'Id, both 'Id al-Fitr and 'Id al-Adha. Both are the same.
