The questioner : A questioner says: Noble Shaykh, a woman broke her fast in Ramadan for about ten years. Six of those years were due to pregnancy and breastfeeding because of her fear for her health and that of her fetus. She then repented. Is repentance sufficient, or does she owe something? I ask for your guidance. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Yes. Repentance is sufficient on the condition that she makes up the days she owes. If she fasts the days she owes, that is sufficient. It is not obligatory for her to feed people, according to the stronger opinion among the scholars. Some scholars say: "If a person delays making up Ramadan until the second Ramadan without an excuse, he must fast and feed people". But the correct view is that there is no feeding, and fasting is sufficient. Yes.
