A woman who broke her fast in Ramadan due to menstruation for several years and has not made up these days to this date: what should she do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : How many Ramadans have passed for her? Let us suppose, for example, thirty Ramadans. In each Ramadan, how many days is her custom, for example, seven days? Three times seven is twenty-one, meaning two hundred and ten days of prayers, for example. So she prays; she does not have to make up the fasting, meaning the prayer, rather she makes up the days she broke her fast due to the excuse of menstruation. As we said, she makes an approximate calculation, and then she increases her voluntary acts.

The questioner : She is elderly and is being treated for something, and she says, "I cannot..."

The Shaykh : My brother, I am asking you: is she fasting in Ramadan now or not? No?

The questioner : She is fasting, but we tell her, "Make up those days," but she says, "No, I cannot fast..."

The Shaykh : Well, is it her word or the scholars' word? What is the benefit of this if it is said to a man, "Pray, for prayer is obligatory"? What is our recourse with him? Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : It is not befitting for a Muslim to strive to turn Hajj into a leisure trip. There must be some hardship, as came in some hadiths.
