Exegesis of His saying: (( Do not those people think that they will be resurrected? ))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
Do not those people think that they will be resurrected? أَلا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ
And I say: Yes, they say, "We will be resurrected for this Day," but they forget it when desires take hold. In their rights, they forget that they will be resurrected. Otherwise, if a person, when his soul prompts him to neglect an obligatory duty or transgress a forbidden act, were to remember the Day of Return, I do not think any sane person who believes in it would fail to restrain himself from the forbidden and compel himself to perform the obligatory. Is that not so? Every person who is about to leave an obligatory duty or commit a forbidden act, then remembers the Hereafter, that great Day which Allah described as making the children gray-haired, can never proceed to leave an obligatory duty or commit a forbidden act. But heedlessness and forgetfulness overcome us until we forget this great Day. O Allah, remind us of it, O Lord of the worlds.
(4) Do they not think that they will be resurrected (5) For a tremendous Day - أَلا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:4-5]
Here is a grammatical and rhetorical question. He said:
Do not those people think أَلا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ
He used the form of distance, even though they are near, for he is speaking about them now; the discourse is about them. So why did he refer to them with the form of distance? He referred to them with the form of distance not to magnify or honor them, but to indicate the lowliness of their rank and the insignificance of their conduct, and that they are far from the truth.
