The questioner : Why did Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, single out fasting by saying: Sahih al-Bukhari 7538?
The Shaykh : This is a hadith qudsi narrated by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from his Lord. Allah said in it:Sunan Ibn Majah 3823. Allah, the Exalted, singled it out for Himself because fasting is a secret between the servant and his Lord, and no one knows about it except Allah. Indeed, acts of worship are of two types: a type that is apparent because it is verbal or physical, and a type that is hidden because it is an act of abstention. Abstention is not known by anyone except Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Thus, the one who fasts abstains from his food, drink, and desires for the sake of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in a place where no one knows about it except his Lord. So Allah, the Exalted, singled out fasting for Himself because of the complete sincerity that appears in it, as we have indicated.
The scholars differed regarding the meaning of this attribution. Some of them said: Its meaning is the honoring of fasting and the indication of its virtue, and that there is no compensation in it. That is, if a person has wronged someone, that wronged person takes from his good deeds on the Day of Resurrection, except for fasting. Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, has singled it out for Himself, so Allah bears from the wrongdoer what remains of his injustice, and the reward of fasting remains pure for him. Yes.
The questioner : Also, the listener Shaykh Muhammad says.

الصوم لي وأنا أجزي بهThe Shaykh : This is a hadith qudsi narrated by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from his Lord. Allah said in it:
Every deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied for him, between ten and seven hundred times for each merit. Allah said: 'Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I shall reward for it.'
