The questioner : What are the dispensations for travel? We ask you to provide information?

The Shaykh : The dispensations for travel are, first, praying the four-rak'ah prayers as two rak'ahs; so one prays the midday prayer as two rak'ahs, the afternoon prayer as two rak'ahs, and the night prayer as two rak'ahs.
Second: breaking the fast in Ramadan and making it up on a number of other days.
Third: wiping over leather socks for three days and nights, starting from the first time one wipes.
Fourth: the dropping of the obligation to perform the regular voluntary prayers attached to the midday, sunset, and night prayers. As for the regular voluntary prayer of the dawn prayer and the rest of the voluntary prayers, they remain prescribed and recommended. So the traveler prays the night prayer, the sunnah of the dawn prayer, the two rak'ahs of the forenoon prayer, the sunnah of the ablution, the two rak'ahs of entering the mosque, and the two rak'ahs upon arriving from travel. It is from the Sunnah that when a person arrives from travel, he begins, before entering his house, by entering the house of Allah, the mosque, and praying two rak'ahs in it. Likewise, the rest of the voluntary prayer remains prescribed for the traveler, except for what I mentioned first, which is the regular voluntary prayer of the midday, the regular voluntary prayer of the sunset, and the regular voluntary prayer of the night, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray these three regular voluntary prayers. Yes.
