Is it permissible to apply colored makeup to the face, or is this considered altering the creation of Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to apply colored makeup to the face, or is this considered altering the creation of Allah? It is known for its effect in beautifying the face. Is there a text from the Sunnah or the Qur'an that informs us that the first Muslim women used to apply colored makeup to their faces, and that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted that?

The Shaykh : Kohl for the eyes was known from the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) until our day, and there is no doubt that it gives the eye beauty and adornment. As for beautifying the face and the lips, the original ruling is permissibility until evidence comes to prohibit it. So if a woman beautifies herself, or more accurately, if she beautifies her face with these powders and ointments, there is nothing wrong with it. Because for such matters, if no prohibition has come from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the original ruling is permissibility, and we do not need to seek evidence for its permissibility, because that is the original ruling. And for what is the original ruling, the one who is required to provide evidence is the one who claims the exception, not the one who claims the original ruling. Therefore, if we hold to one of the original principles and someone says to us: "What is the evidence?" we say to him: "The evidence is the absence of evidence," meaning that the evidence for this is the absence of evidence for its departure from the original ruling.
