If a woman falls ill and needs blood, and blood is taken from a non-relative for her, then Allah the Exalted heals her, and that non-relative then desires to marry her, is that permissible?

The questioner : If a woman falls ill and needs blood, and blood is taken from a non-relative for her, then Allah the Exalted heals her, and that non-relative then desires to marry her, is that permissible for him? We ask for your guidance.
The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a man to marry a woman from whom he has taken blood, because this blood is not breast milk, so we do not say that it is forbidden. The forbidden thing is breast milk, provided it is before weaning within the two-year period. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Breast-feeding makes unlawful (for marriages) the same things that blood tie make unlawful. يحرم من الرضاع ما يحرم من النسب
Sunan Ibn Majah 1937Sahih (Darussalam)
Thus, this child becomes the son of the wet nurse and the son of the one to whom the milk belongs, such as her husband or her master if she is a slave woman, and the brother of the children of this woman who nursed him, and the brother of those to whom her milk is attributed, such as a husband or master, even if this husband or master does not have children from the wet nurse. Therefore, if a woman nurses an infant and has children from a previous husband, the infant becomes the brother of her children from the previous husband through the mother. And if her husband, to whom her milk is attributed, has children from another woman, this infant becomes the brother of her husband's children through their father. And if she has children from the husband to whom her milk is attributed, this infant is their brother through both mother and father.

The questioner : Our dear listening brothers, at the end of this session, we thank Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih ibn Uthaymeen.
