The questioner : In his last question, he mentions, O honorable Shaykh, that he has children and says, “I did not perform the sacrifice of the amulets, as we call them, because I was unable to obtain the amount of money to do so. And as you know, it is not permissible to slaughter with debt or credit. So what should I do? Please advise us, may you be rewarded?”

The Shaykh : You owe nothing as long as you are unable to perform this act, because Allah the Exalted says in His Book:
So fear Allah as much as you are able فاتقوا الله ما استطعتم
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
And He the Mighty and Majestic says:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لا يكلف الله نفسا إلا وسعها
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can. إذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا منه ما استطعتم
Sahih al-Bukhari 7288
So if a person is poor when his children are born, he owes no amulet because he is incapable, and acts of worship are dropped when one is incapable of performing them. Yes.
