When I wake up late for the Fajr prayer and have incurred a state of major ritual impurity that requires the full ritual bath

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In his last question, he says: When I wake up late for the Fajr prayer and have incurred a state of major ritual impurity that requires the full ritual bath, and performing the full ritual bath causes me to miss attending the congregation, is it permissible for me to perform dry ablution with clean earth and attend the congregation, or is the full ritual bath obligatory even if I miss the congregational prayer?

The Shaykh : Yes. The full ritual bath is obligatory even if you miss the congregational prayer, because Allah the Exalted said:
And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves وإن كنتم جنبا فاطهروا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
And because the full ritual bath from major ritual impurity is a condition for the validity of the prayer. As for the congregational prayer, the correct view is that it is not a condition for the validity of the prayer; rather, a person’s prayer is valid if he prays alone, but he commits a sin if he is able to attend the congregation and does not.
