The ruling on performing tayammum for a person in a state of major ritual impurity when water is available in order to catch the congregational prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a man who is in a state of major ritual impurity to perform tayammum and leave the prayer, given that water is available, knowing that if he performs the full ritual bath, he will miss the congregational prayer, but he will not miss the time for the prayer?

Answer:
If he is in a state of major ritual impurity, he must perform the full ritual bath and not perform tayammum. It is not permissible for him to perform tayammum; rather, the tayammum is invalid if water is available and he is able to use it. He is obligated to perform the full ritual bath, even if he misses the congregation. If, for example, performing the bath causes him to miss the congregation, while performing tayammum would allow him to catch it, no, he does not perform tayammum. He performs the bath with water and prays, even in his home if the congregation is not feasible for him.
However, he must allow ample time, or set the clock for a generous amount of time, or tell those who wake him before dawn to ensure he can perform the bath and pray with the congregation. He must not be lax. People, praise be to Allah, have clocks now, and clocks have become convenient. He should set it for the appropriate time so that he wakes up early, performs the bath calmly, prays what Allah has decreed for him, and then proceeds to the congregational prayer. This is what is obligatory upon him. We ask Allah for safety.
