What is the ruling on the case where the late-joining follower becomes the imam for the late-joiner who did not catch up with the imam?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for the follower to become the imam, that is,

The Shaykh : meaning the late-joiner.

The questioner : meaning the late-joiner.

The Shaykh : Yes, he entered the mosque and was a late-joiner who had missed a unit of prayer.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : So he stood to complete his prayer, and the second person entered and followed him.

The questioner : He followed him.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible.

The questioner : It is permissible, and

The Shaykh : It is not permissible.

The questioner : The evidence for that is

The Shaykh : The evidence for that is that it was not part of the practice of the righteous predecessors, first of all. Then it came in "Sahih al-Bukhari" that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey and went out in the morning to relieve himself. Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him, so he brought him a water vessel and poured water over him, and he performed the ablution. The Companions were in the prayer area they had prepared for the prayer, and they had delayed the Messenger (peace be upon him) in the Fajr prayer, so they put forward 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf and he led them in prayer. Then the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his companion al-Mughirah quickly came. Al-Mughirah intended to inform the imam that the Messenger (peace be upon him) had arrived, but he gestured to him to leave him alone. So the Messenger (peace be upon him) and al-Mughirah prayed behind 'Abd al-Rahman. When the imam concluded the prayer, they stood up and prayed the unit that they had missed. Al-Mughirah did not follow the Messenger (peace be upon him), even though he is the best example to follow, but each one prayed his own prayer.

The questioner : The followers of this imam must repeat the prayer.

The Shaykh : No, they must not return to such a thing again.

The questioner : He should warn them. If they repeat it, O Shaykh, will their prayer be invalid?
The student : In the case of persistence, meaning that he

The Shaykh : No, there is no invalidation. This is a second group, but it is disliked.
