The Shaykh : After his explicit and clear statement, (peace and blessings be upon him): , there is no room for anyone to contradict this hadith by saying: the angels enter a house that contains a picture or a dog. All that can be said is to distinguish between a picture that is visible and one that is covered and not visible. In the first case, that hadith applies to it. As for the other case, it can be said: if the intention behind these pictures used in some schoolbooks or magazines is to reach beneficial knowledge, and the intention is not for entertainment, then these pictures, in terms of acquiring the books containing them for the benefit you mentioned, are permissible to use. However, it is not permissible for these pictures to remain visible, as that would prevent the angels from entering.
