If wearing trousers is obligatory for him in his work, what is the ruling on his prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If wearing trousers is obligatory for him in his work, then...?

The Shaykh : I consider this an excuse that is worse than a sin. Who imposed this work on him? The job imposed it on him. It is not permissible for a Muslim to disobey Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) in any form of disobedience in order to earn his livelihood. Allah the Exalted said—and this is well known, but most people do not pay attention to this text:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.
[At-Talaq 65:2-3]
. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to emphasize this meaning and would say:
O people يا أيها الناس
In a sermon of his (peace be upon him), he said:
O people, no soul will die until it has completed its provision and its term. So, be beautiful in your seeking, for what is with Allah is not obtained through what is forbidden.
. So, the excuse of some people that their job imposes this on them—some say their job imposes wearing trousers on them, and some say it imposes shaving their beard—and thus they justify and legitimize committing sins in the pursuit of livelihood. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)—as you just heard—said:
For what is with Allah is not obtained through what is forbidden
; meaning: What is with Allah of the allotted provision, and the fetus in its mother’s womb, a Muslim should not seek to obtain it by disobeying his Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He). This is the meaning of the hadith’s statement:
For what is with Allah is not obtained
; meaning: It should not be obtained through what is forbidden. Therefore, we must not mention such excuses, for they contradict the Shari'ah.
