The Shaykh : It is permissible before the fourth month, though it is disliked; because we have heard a story similar to this claim; some doctors diagnosed a woman that the fetus would be born deformed, but then, by the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), it was born in the best form; therefore, we cannot be certain that the reports and announcements of doctors are absolute certainty, as they may err in their assessment. However, in any case, if the termination is before the soul is breathed into it, it does not reach the level of being forbidden; it is permissible, especially if this woman has had a prior experience with this.
