The ruling on one who caused the miscarriage of her fetus
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner says: Your Eminence! I have an aunt who miscarried a fetus that was two months old, and she fears that she was the cause of the miscarriage because she ate a type of food that does not agree with her, and she knows that. After that, she felt pain and miscarried. Is there anything required of her in this?
Answer: She owes nothing; because the soul was not breathed into it, she owes nothing, except if she did it intentionally, in which case she has sinned and she must repent. As for if it was without her choice, she owes nothing. But if the soul had been breathed into it after the fifth month or after that, if she did it by mistake, she owes the expiation and she owes the blood money, a slave or a female slave. As for if it was before the four months, in the second or third month, there is nothing in that; she is excused if she did not do it intentionally. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence.
