The Shaykh’s warning about an addition that is not valid, which the common people say in the reported dhikr after the adhan.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And on this occasion, I also say, even if I am prolonging my speech with you, I remind you of another matter. Many people, when they hear the adhan, say what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded:
O Allah, the Lord of this complete call and of this prayer, which is going to be established! Give Muhammad Al-Wasila and Al-Fadila اللهم ربَّ هذه الدعوة التامة ، والصلاة القائمة ، آت محمدًا الوسيلة والفضيلة
Sahih al-Bukhari 4719
, and they add from themselves, "the high rank." My brothers, this is the status of...
then beg from Allah al-Wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah's servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession.
Sahih Muslim 384
.
So when you make this supplication, you think that the meaning of this supplication is that you are supplicating for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and asking Allah to grant the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) this status, which is the high rank. Therefore, it is also idle talk to add the phrase "the high rank" to the supplication after the adhan that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us. Also, some people add at the end of the supplication, "You do not break Your promise," which is a second addition that has no basis in the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). We are commanded to follow in everything he said (peace and blessings be upon him) and everything he did. This is a reminder, and the reminder benefits the believers, if Allah wills.
Shuqara: May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And you as well.
Shuqara: ... If Allah wills, we will not prolong things for you, our Shaykh. We will finish before the 'Asr prayer, by the permission of Allah.

The Shaykh : If Allah wills.
