The Prescribed Supplication After the Adhan: Does the Mu'adhdhin Say It?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : Does the mu'adhdhin, when he finishes the adhan, say the prescribed supplication after the adhan?

The Shaykh : Is it?

The questioner : Does the mu'adhdhin, when he finishes the adhan, say the prescribed supplication after the adhan?

The Shaykh : It appears that he does, because this supplication is not found in the adhan itself. However, he does not respond to himself, as some scholars have claimed. Some scholars say: the mu'adhdhin responds to himself; so when he says "Allahu Akbar" in a loud voice, he says in his heart "Allahu Akbar." In that case, how many times is the takbir?
The first is eight times: once in the original adhan and once in the response. Likewise, the tashahhud: when he says "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah," he says with his tongue: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." On this view, the entire adhan is repeated, once in the original and once in the response. But this opinion is weak, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you hear the Mu'adhdhin then say إذا سمعتم المؤذن فقولوا
Sunan an-Nasa'i 678Sahih (Darussalam)
Thus, he made the listener one thing and the mu'adhdhin another.
As for the dhikr, since the mu'adhdhin does not say it during the adhan, let him say it after the adhan, just as the others do.
So the correct view is: the supplication after the adhan includes both the mu'adhdhin and the listener.
