Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah.

The questioner : How are you, our esteemed Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, I am well.

The questioner : We ask Allah to accept from us and from you good deeds.

The Shaykh : O Allah, amen, and may Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : And may He reward you with the best reward.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : I would like to ask you a question, and then we will make a request, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good. As for the question, go ahead and ask it quickly.

The questioner : Regarding the 'aqiqah, is the day the child is born counted among the days, or is it not counted?

The Shaykh : It is counted. Why not? The first day.

The questioner : Some of the brothers say that it must mean that time passes, meaning you count twenty-four hours for the day. For example, if the child is born at noon, the date starts from the next day, so noon on the next day is counted as a day.

The Shaykh : It is this.

The questioner : It is this.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.

The questioner : Well, one of our brothers has an 'aqiqah next Friday, if Allah wills, and he hopes that you will honor him with your presence.

The Shaykh : By Allah, I think it will be difficult because I have an appointment for another 'aqiqah on Thursday.

The questioner : Well, what about Thursday and Friday?

The Shaykh : Yes, you count it that way, but our time is not like that.

The questioner : I mean, Friday at night is not possible?

The Shaykh : Anything is possible, but depending on the circumstances, you called us on Thursday and we will see later.

The questioner : Thursday, when?

The Shaykh : Noon, for example, before noon.
The student : Before the midday prayer.

The Shaykh : Before the midday prayer.
The student : Before the midday prayer.
Another student: Thursday is booked.

The Shaykh : What did I just say?
The student : I didn't pay attention, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Call before noon.

The questioner : On Thursday.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Very well, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
