What is the meaning of the hadith: “Indeed, Allah created Adam in His image”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the reason for the beating? What is the reason, I mean...?

The Shaykh : There is a reason. In some narrations, it is stated that he saw a man beating a boy on his face, so he said:
he should avoid his face for Allah created Adam in His own image لا تقبِّح الوجه ؛ فإن الله خلق آدم على صورته
Sahih Muslim 2612e
.

The questioner : Is this the second narration?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is another narration. The first one is:
and his height is sixty cubits وطوله ستُّون ذراعًا
in *Sahih al-Bukhari*, and this other one is in *Sahih Muslim*. Both are authentic narrations, and one leads to the other and is closely connected to it; meaning, this beaten person—Allah created Adam in His image, and Allah created Adam in His image, and his height was sixty cubits.
