The Shaykh : So one of them said, O Allah, if You know that there was a woman who pleased me, so I sought her. In the narration of Ibn 'Umar, it was a relative of his; he said there, "I had a cousin." He said there, "I loved her as strongly as men love women." This is clearer than the narration that she pleased me... The scholar said, "I loved her as strongly as men love women." And the effect of this intense love will become apparent in his fear of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) when he restrained himself from her. So I sought her, but she refused me, so I made a promise to her, meaning compensation for her surrendering herself to him; he would give her money in return. This money was one hundred dinars, as mentioned in some narrations of the hadith of Ibn 'Umar. When she came close to him, he says there, "When she was between my legs, she said, O servant of Allah, fear Allah and do not open the seal except with its right." So I got up from her. And here he says, "When she came close to me, I left her." Here there is a general statement, and there is a detailed statement. And thus, the story can be gathered in its most complete form from the collection of narrations in which it was reported. He said, this first supplicant, "If You know," addressing his Lord, "If You know that I did that hoping for Your mercy and fearing Your punishment, then relieve us." If You know that I turned away from this girl, and in addition to that, that I left the money I had presented to her in order to satisfy my desire with her, so I left all of that, meaning for Your sake and out of fear of You. But he feared that he might be mistaken, that he might have left it out of fear of Allah. And therefore he says, "O Allah, if You know that I only did that hoping for Your mercy and fearing Your punishment, then relieve us." So a third of the stone moved away, meaning the rock that had blocked the mouth of the cave was shifted by a third of the distance, allowing them to exit the cave.
