Continuation of the explanation of the hadith of Abu Hurayrah: (So one of them said: O Allah, if You know that there was a woman who pleased me)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So one of them said:
O Allah, if You know that there was a woman who pleased me, so I sought her
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:371
, in the hadith of Ibn 'Umar it was a relative of his;
I had a cousin
Sahih al-Bukhari 3465
, it says there:
like the deepest love a man may have for a woman
Sahih al-Bukhari 2333
. This is clearer than the hadith:
who pleased me تُعجِبُنِي
, what is the extent of this admiration and wonder? He said:
like the deepest love a man may have for a woman
Sahih al-Bukhari 2333
. The effect of this intense love will appear in his fear of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) when he restrained himself from her,
so I sought her, but she refused me, so I offered her a reward
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:371
; meaning compensation for her making herself available to him, so he would give her money in return, and this money was one hundred dinars as it came in some narrations of the hadith of Ibn 'Umar.
but when she made herself available to me
, it says there:
and when I was going to have a sexual intercourse with her, that she said: Servant of Allah, fear Allah and do not break the seal (of chastity) but by lawful means. I got up.
Sahih Muslim 2743a
. Here it says:
but when she made herself available to me, I left her
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:371
. Here there is a general statement, there there is a detailed statement, and in this way the story can be gathered in its entirety from the sum of the narrations that came in it.
This first supplicant said:
if You فَإِن كُنْتَ
addressing his Lord,
if You know that I only did that hoping for Your mercy and fearing Your punishment; so remove it from us
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:371
; if You know that I turned away from this girl, and more than that that I left the money I had presented to her in order to gain my desire from her, so I left all of that; meaning for Your sake and out of fear of You, but he fears that he may be mistaken in thinking that he left it out of fear of Allah; and therefore he says:
if You, O Allah, know that I only did that hoping for Your mercy and fearing Your punishment; so remove it from us, so a third of the rock was removed
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:371
meaning: the rock that had blocked the mouth of the cave shifted by a third of the distance in which they could exit the cave.
