How does a sick person pray while sitting, and what is the evidence for this?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner asks: How does a sick person pray while sitting? Does he sit in the position of tawbit (sitting on the left foot) or in the position of tashahhud? And what is the evidence for this? May Allah preserve you.

The Shaykh : If a sick person prays while sitting, or if a non-sick person prays a voluntary prayer while sitting, he sits in the position of tawbit (sitting on the left foot) for the standing and the bowing. As for the prostration and the sitting, he is in the position of tashahhud or the sitting between the two prostrations. The evidence for this is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he prayed while sitting, prayed in the position of tawbit. As for the prostration, the sitting between the two prostrations, and the tashahhud, the position of iftirash (sitting on the left foot with the right foot extended) is closer to the position of a healthy person, and whatever is closer to the position of a healthy person is more preferable. Yes.
