Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((But they were amazed that a warner had come to them from among them)).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then He said:
But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves
[Qaf 50:2]
The student of knowledge looks here for the answer to the oath, because an oath must have its pillars: the one who swears, that by which he swears, that upon which he swears, and the tool of the oath. How many are these? Four: the one who swears, that by which he swears, that upon which he swears, and the tool of the oath. Let us now look at this verse:
And the glorious Qur'an والقرآن المجيد
In it is the tool of the oath, which is the letter waw. In it is that by which He swears, which is the Qur'an. In it is the one who swears, which is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because the Qur'an is the speech of Allah. The fourth remains: what is it? That upon which He swears. Where is it? Grammarians and exegetes have differed on this, but Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Kathir held the stronger position that the answer to the oath is the content of the entire surah, the content of the entire surah, and not a specific sentence from it. The meaning is that Allah swore by the Qur'an regarding everything in this surah, and that it is truth, with no falsehood or doubt affecting it. And thus, we do not need an answer in a specific sentence.
But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves
[Qaf 50:2]
They were amazed. The doer is the disbelievers of Quraysh, and the evidence for this is His saying:
From among them منهم
And he is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). How did the Exalted say?
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:2]
Meaning, among the Arabs.
And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves
[Sad 38:4]
Is this amazement amazement of approval and affirmation, or amazement of denial and rejection? What appears to you? The second. The word "amazement" comes to mean approval and affirmation, as in the hadith of A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her):
Allah’s Messenger (rad) loved to begin with the right while putting on his shoes, combing his hair
Bulugh al-Maram 44
And she says, "So-and-so spoke, and his speech amazed me," meaning it pleased me and I affirmed it. And the word "amazement" comes to mean denial and rejection, as in this verse. They were amazed, meaning amazement of denial and rejection, that a warner had come to them from among them: and he is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He (peace and blessings be upon him) is a warner and a bringer of good news. A warner with punishment for everyone who disobeys him, and a bringer of good news with abundant reward for everyone who obeys him.
