The Shaykh : As for what I intend to speak about tonight regarding the recitation of the imams, it is the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'arij 70:19-31].
Here, Allah the Exalted explained that man, in his capacity as a human being, is anxious. He explained anxiety by His saying:[Al-Ma'arij 70:20-21] If evil touches him, he does not have patience, but rather he panics and complains. And if good touches him, he withholds the good and becomes stingy with it, whether this good is wealth, status, or knowledge, except for those who are characterized by these attributes:
the praying ones And at the end of the verses: So Allah mentioned prayer in the first of the attributes and in the last of the attributes, and this is evidence of the care taken for it. He described these praying ones with two descriptions regarding prayer:
That they are constant in it and maintain it. They are constant, not leaving it, and they maintain it, not neglecting any of its obligatory acts, recommended practices, or complements.
(19) Indeed, mankind was created anxious: (20) When evil touches him, impatient, (21) And when good touches him, withholding [of it], (22) Except the observers of prayer - (23) Those who are constant in their prayer (24) And those within whose wealth is a known right (25) For the petitioner and the deprived - (26) And those who believe in the Day of Recompense (27) And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord - (28) Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe - (29) And those who guard their private parts (30) Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed - (31) But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -
Here, Allah the Exalted explained that man, in his capacity as a human being, is anxious. He explained anxiety by His saying:
