And His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:21] The Lord is the Creator, the Owner, what is the third? The Manager. The Creator, the Owner, the Manager. Accordingly, His saying: is a descriptive attribute that clarifies the reality, not a restrictive attribute, because we do not have two Lords, one of whom is a Creator and the other is not a Creator, but rather our Lord is the Creator. So the attribute here is a descriptive attribute, not a restrictive attribute. [Al-Baqarah 2:21] Creation is bringing into existence from non-existence, and no one created mankind except Allah (Mighty and Majestic). No father, mother, angel, or anyone else creates them; only Allah creates them. And if Allah the Exalted says: [Al-Hajj 22:73] then the non-creation of the children of Adam is even more so. Yes, [Al-Baqarah 2:21] meaning, and He created those before you. For this reason, we see, glory be to Allah, that the children of Adam are in a continuous chain. You look at a mosque or a community and you find one is seventy years old, one is fifty, one is forty, one is thirty, one is twenty, one is ten, and one is five. This is so that the universe is populated and they succeed one another. When you reflect on this, you know the perfection of the authority of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the perfection of His wisdom. Those before us are created beings, and we are from their offspring. [As-Saffat 37:77] The offspring of Noah; we are from their offspring. So whoever branches off from a created being is a created being. [Al-Baqarah 2:21] Accordingly, His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:21] is connected to the kaf in . [Al-Baqarah 2:21] Here, “perhaps” (la‘alla) is for the purpose of causation, meaning so that you may attain mindfulness of Allah. It is known that mindfulness of Allah is a high rank, to the extent that Allah said regarding Paradise: And He the Exalted said: [An-Nahl 16:128] And He the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:194]
