The questioner : The questioner says: She recalls that she is a woman of twenty-six years old. A fire occurred after she had lit it. The child came to her for the first time, and she had prevented her from approaching the fire more than four times, because she was using kerosene. This was because she was in the rainy season. The child came to her suddenly from behind when she was lighting the fire, after she had prevented her four times. The fire caught both her and the child, which resulted in her sustaining some minor injuries. As for the child, the fire reached her and her thin clothing, which led to her death and the end of her life at the age of seven. She fears that she may have a sin regarding this child, whether it is a major or minor one. May Allah preserve you?

The Shaykh : There is no sin upon this woman for the burning of her daughter. Rather, I hope that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will grant her reward for her patience in this calamity. I ask Allah the Exalted to make it an elevation for her in her ranks. The mother, without doubt, did not want this at all. If she had been able to prevent the fire from reaching her when it caught, she would have prevented it. She is not the one who brought her to be burned. She is neither negligent nor transgressing. But we ask Allah the Exalted to console her with her daughter and to reward her for her patience. There is nothing upon her: no sin, no blood money, and no expiation.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
