The questioner : She is reminded that she is a woman who has been married for about a year, and she is currently with her family due to her medical circumstances. She performed the lesser pilgrimage in Ramadan and the major pilgrimage last year without obtaining her husband's permission or seeking his consent. Please note that she tried to inform him, but he was not present and she did not know where he was. Does she commit a sin by doing so? Are the lesser pilgrimage and the major pilgrimage valid? She says: Please note that there is no disagreement between me and my husband, but I informed his father and his family that I was going with my father.

The Shaykh : But I?

The questioner : She says, "But I informed his father and his family as well that I was going with my father. May Allah reward you with good."

The Shaykh : As for the major pilgrimage and the lesser pilgrimage, they are valid because they are obligatory, and the husband does not have the right to prevent his wife from fulfilling an obligation if the conditions are met. As for whether she commits a sin or not, if she knows that her husband is pleased with it, then she commits no sin.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
