Q: I performed Hajj for my mother after her death, but I did not perform Hajj for my father after his death. Is there a sin on me for leaving the Hajj for my father?
A: There is no sin on you for leaving the Hajj for your father, because it is not obligatory for you to perform Hajj on his behalf. However, performing Hajj for him is an act of dutifulness and excellence, and it falls under the general command of Allah to do good, as He the Exalted said: . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
