Speaking about the condition of Muslims today.

The Shaykh : ...
Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented? أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَنْ بِهِ اللَّهُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:21]
, so this is like the Qur'an in that legislation belongs to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), just as worship belongs to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) alone, and it is not permissible for anyone else to be associated with it (Blessed and Exalted is He). Likewise, legislation is among the exclusive attributes of Allah, so it is not permissible for anyone on earth, no matter how high their status, to oblige people to follow a law other than the law of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). Whoever does that has taken him as a Lord, because he has made him a partner with him in legislation. Therefore, the Messenger (peace be upon him) explained the verse to 'Adi ibn Hatim by saying that taking lords other than Allah does not mean that you did to these monks what you did to Jesus (peace be upon him), making him a partner with Allah. Rather, you associated partners with Allah in the sense that you followed them in what they forbade of the lawful and what they permitted of the forbidden. For making things lawful and forbidden is among the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). It is not permissible for anyone to say, "This is forbidden," except with a text from the Book and the Sunnah, or to say, "This is lawful," except with a text from the Book and the Sunnah. When the Christians deviated from worshipping Allah in legislation, this verse was revealed to warn us from falling into what those before us fell into. Have we taken heed?
Answer: No. Therefore, we see our reality today that we are living in confused, differing, and strongly contradictory legislations. This is one of the causes of the Muslims' intellectual confusion and social disagreement. For this reason, we believe that the way out of this unfortunate reality—which I cannot imagine a Muslim with even a grain of faith in it who does not share our denial of it—is that many people do not know what the treatment is. The treatment is in a hadith of Thabit from the Messenger (peace be upon him), and with it I conclude this speech so that the hadith may be a continuous flow, and there may be some questions. This hadith is his saying (may Allah's prayers and blessings be upon him):
When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
. So in this authentic hadith, he mentioned some types of ailments and diseases that will afflict the Muslims and described the only definitive cure for these ailments and diseases, saying:
until you return to your original religion حتَّى ترجِعُوا إلى دينِكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Returning to the religion requires, first, correct understanding and correct application, and this is another topic. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: And you as well, if Allah wills.
... for it, and with this we say, if you have something, meaning something we can benefit from, we will hear it and cooperate on it, and it will be good, if Allah wills.
