What is the ruling on a wife who raises her voice at her husband in matters of their marital life?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on a wife who raises her voice at her husband in matters of their marital life?

The Shaykh : We tell this wife that raising her voice at her husband is a lack of proper conduct, because the husband is the one in authority over her and the one who cares for her. She should respect him and address him with proper conduct, because that is more likely to strengthen the bond between them and keep the affection between them intact. Likewise, the husband should treat her in the same way, for the relationship is mutual. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.
[An-Nisa 4:19]
So my advice to this wife is to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in herself and her husband, and not to raise her voice at him, especially if he is addressing her with calmness and a lowered voice.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
