Eid Abbasi : Now, what is the limit of keeping away from one's wife on a day of fasting? And what is permissible for the fasting person with his wife?

The Shaykh : This is an important question, and the answer to it varies depending on the person, whether he is a young man, especially if he is newly married, or whether he is a middle-aged man or an old man. The first category, out of caution and fear, should keep away from what is lawful for him, from his wife, and from all causes that might lead him to what is forbidden for him, which is intercourse. This is because Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss his wives while fasting, said: "And who among you can control his private parts as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) could control his?"
