The Qiblah and Intimacy for the Fasting Person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: It is established from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would kiss and embrace (his wives) while fastingكان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقبل وهو صائم، ويباشر وهو صائم
Bulugh al-Maram 5:15
. Is the ruling regarding the qiblah here general for the old man and the young man? Or is it specific to the old man only? And what is the intended meaning of the hadith? May Allah reward you.

Answer: The hadith is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to kiss while fasting, and he used to have intimacy while fasting, and the intended meaning of the qiblah is well known. And the intended meaning of intimacy is: Intimacy other than intercourse, which is touching, for example. As for intercourse, it invalidates fasting by explicit text and scholarly consensus.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did that because he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in control of himself, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was aware of the rulings of his fasting (peace and blessings be upon him), and what affects it and what invalidates it. As for other people, they should not proceed to do such things, proceeding to the qiblah, and proceeding to intimacy with a woman by touching and the like, because that is an inducement for what invalidates the fast to occur from them, given their ignorance, weakness of faith, and lack of control over themselves. So it is best for the Muslim to avoid what arouses his desire and what he fears will invalidate his fasting.
As for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to do that because he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in control of himself, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most God-fearing of people and the most fearful of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was most aware of what preserves his fasting (peace and blessings be upon him). So other than the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), it is incumbent upon him to be cautious and to stay away from these matters during fasting, because they may cause him to invalidate his fasting.
