The Shaykh : We are still discussing the hadith Sahih Muslim 2947a where we spoke about ... the preceding signs: the sun rising from the west, the smoke, and the Dajjal. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said and the beast of the earth. This is the one whose mention came in the Noble Qur'an [An-Naml 27:82] Regarding this beast, nothing has come in the authentic Sunnah beyond what is contained in this hadith along with the mentioned verse. The summary of the matter is that it is a sign of the Hour. As for what is mentioned in some books that collect whatever they find of hadith, whether authentic or not, one should not rely on any of that. For example, here in a contemporary explanation of al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, strange descriptions are mentioned based on weak hadiths. For instance, it says it has four legs, feathers, and two wings, and it is said to have the head of a bull, and so on. None of these descriptions is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) except what I hinted at earlier, that it is among the signs of the Hour. For example, what is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is Also, this hadith contains nothing more than that it is among the major signs of the Hour. In another hadith regarding the rising of the sun and the beast, this benefit was mentioned. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said Sunan Abi Dawud 4310Sahih (Al-Albani) If the sun rises from the west before the emergence of the beast, then the beast will follow it. Or the reverse: if the beast emerges before the sun rises from the west, then the sun will rise from the west after it. This is all that can be said about the beast of the earth. Anything else is mere conjecture and speculation that does not benefit the truth in any way.
