What are the causes of a happy life in this world and the Hereafter?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What are the causes of a happy life in this world and the Hereafter?

The Shaykh : There are two causes, which Allah the Exalted mentioned in His Book. He said, (Exalted and Majestic is He):
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.
[An-Nahl 16:97]
May Allah make us and you among the believers who do good deeds.

The questioner : O Allah, amen.

The Shaykh :
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.
[An-Nahl 16:97]
You will find that the believer who does good deeds is among the sweetest of people in heart and the broadest in chest. He proceeds according to the divine decree and destiny, and he carries out the obedience of Allah and His Messenger. He does not rejoice in what he is given with arrogant joy, nor does he grieve over what he missed without any fault on his part. So he is always in joy, always in good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his entire affair is good, and that is only for the believer. If adversity strikes him, he is patient, and it is good for him. And if prosperity strikes him, he is grateful, and it is good for him.
