A man was invited to a feast without knowing its nature, so when he arrived and the food was served, it became clear to him that it was a Mawlid celebration. What should he do?

The questioner : I say, if they invited you with a firm intention and you came without knowing what its nature was, and before you realized it, you were in the middle of the gathering, eating, and the matter was a Mawlid, what is obligatory for you when you do not know?

The Shaykh : Do you mean the gathering was for the occasion of a Mawlid?

The questioner : A Mawlid, yes, and I don't know... should I eat or...?

The Shaykh : Yes, if the gathering is intended for the blessing of the Mawlid, do not eat; leave. But if the gathering was a coincidence, and a Mawlid occurred and the gathering was held, not for the sake of the Mawlid, but as an invitation like other invitations, but it coincided with the Mawlid, there is nothing wrong with it.

The questioner : For example, a man's father came from a trip and he wanted to prepare a meal for him, and he cameThe Shaykh : and recited the Mawlid, so does the meal become for the arrival from the trip?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is permissible because it is not for the Mawlid.

The questioner : But if the party is specifically for the Mawlid, it is not permissible to eat from it because it was slaughtered for other than Allah.

The Shaykh : Yes, we do not say it was slaughtered for other than Allah, but the gathering is an innovator, yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, is it not considered shirk (associating partners with Allah)?

The Shaykh : No, this has a second discussion, yes.
