What is the method of prostration of gratitude? And how many prostrations does it have?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: What is the method of prostration of gratitude? Does it require takbir and taslim, and how many prostrations are there?

The Shaykh : The prostration of gratitude is one, and none of the conditions required for prayer are required for it. It is like the prostration of recitation; they are the same in ruling. No condition is required for either, such as ritual purity, facing the qiblah, taslim, takbir, or the like. Rather, if one is surprised by a blessing, he prostrates immediately, as he is, and praises Allah with whatever is easy for him, thanking Him for that blessing He has bestowed upon him. Likewise, if he recites a verse from the Book of Allah the Exalted and Majestic that contains a prostration, he prostrates immediately, whether he is in a state of wudu' or not, whether he is facing the qiblah or not, without the takbir of ihram, without tashahhud, and without salam. Yes.

The questioner: ... .

The Shaykh : This is how I understand it. As for the issue of not remembering the blessing, that is not reasonable. It seems to me that you want to say: Allah the Exalted and Majestic bestowed a blessing on a person, and he did not know the ruling regarding prostrating for such a blessing. Then, after a long or short time, he learned that such a blessing deserves a prostration. Does he prostrate or not? We say, whether the scenario you intend is like this, or the scenario I understood from you which I did not grasp, because it is not reasonable for a person to receive a blessing and not remember it.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : This is it. I have already answered you. He does not prostrate because the time and period for it have passed. The prostration of gratitude is only when one is informed of the blessing.
