The Method of Prostration of Gratitude

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was sent from al-Qasim by one of the female listeners, Umm Fahd. Umm Fahd asks about the prostration of gratitude: how is it performed? And what is its ruling regarding its prescription?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The prostration of gratitude is like the prostration of prayer; it is a single prostration. In it, one says what is said in the prostration of prayer: "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High), "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High). One praises Allah and extols Him for the blessing that has occurred. One calls upon Him (Exalted and Majestic is He) and thanks Him. This is the prostration of gratitude. When a person is informed that Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) has granted him a child, or is informed that his mother has been cured of her illness, or his father, or is informed that Allah has granted victory to the Muslims and they were victorious over their enemy, it is prescribed for him to prostrate in gratitude to Allah, even if he is not in a state of ritual purity. In the prostration, he says what he says in the prostration of prayer: "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High), "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High). He says: "O Allah, forgive me. O Allah, grant me the ability to be grateful for Your blessing. Praise be to Allah for this blessing," and the like. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
