Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Tell us about the characteristics of the Sacred House, and did the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) make a supplication for Madinah? The third point: What is the reward for one who prays in Madinah?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, his Companions, and those who follow them in excellence until the Day of Judgment. Among its characteristics, in which it is not shared by any other place, is that it is obligatory for every Muslim to perform Hajj and 'Umrah to it if he has the means to do so. There is no place on earth that a Muslim is obligated to visit for Hajj or 'Umrah. Among the characteristics of this House is the multiplication of prayers within it; the prayer in the Sacred Mosque is worth one hundred thousand prayers. Among its characteristics is the prohibition of cutting its trees, uprooting its grass, or killing its game. It has many other characteristics that this occasion does not allow us to mention, but there are well-known books on this matter to which the questioner can refer.
As for the Prophet's Mosque, among its characteristics is that prayer in it is better than a thousand prayers in any other place except the Sacred Mosque. It has a type of sanctity in its sacred precinct, but it is less than the sanctity of the sacred precinct of Makkah.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
