If one reaches the evening of the Day of Sacrifice without having performed the Tawaf of Ifadah, does he return to the state of Ihram as he was?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Hawini: The question is: Does a person who did not perform Tawaf around the Holy Ka'bah on the Day of Sacrifice return to the state of Ihram as before, or what does he do? Please mention the evidence.

The Shaykh : It is necessary to return, as stated in the hadith we mentioned in the booklet on the rituals of Hajj and 'Umrah. The hadith is strong in the aggregate of its chains: whoever reaches the evening without having performed the Tawaf of Ifadah returns to the state of Ihram as he was before. This is necessary. Therefore, the person in Ihram is in one of two situations: either he hastens to perform the Tawaf of Ifadah so that he may enjoy the state of Hal (permissibility) that he enjoyed after stoning the Jamarat al-Aqabah. Or, if he intended not to perform Tawaf until the second or third day, then he does not enjoy the state of Hal that he enjoyed by stoning and intending to perform Tawaf before the evening. This is a necessary matter, even though most people are unaware of it, and many who know the text turn away from it, for people are slaves to what they are accustomed to, may Allah protect us from that.

Another questioner : Does he remain in the state of Ihram, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : This is cold.

Another questioner : Does he remain in the state of Ihram, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : I say: He remains in his Ihram until he performs Tawaf. Yes.
