Discussion on how a woman shortens her hair during Hajj and 'Umrah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And peace be upon you. Is it obligatory for a woman to shorten her entire head of hair during Hajj or 'Umrah if her hair is layered, meaning it has a cut at the front and on the sides, i.e., layered from the front of the hair to the end according to its length? This is the first part of the question. And what does a woman do if she only shortened one part of her hair, i.e., only at the end, while in the state of ihram for 'Umrah, and then she exited the state of ihram and entered the state of ihram for Hajj?

The Shaykh : It is sufficient for every woman to do what was mentioned in the second part of the question, which is to cut a few hairs from her hair. It is not necessary to take from all sides of the head, but only from the bottom of the hair. By doing so, she exits the state of ihram. So, what was mentioned in the second part of the question is sufficient for exiting the state of ihram, and that is enough.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
