I work in one of the institutions, and the institution has established the practice of sending some of its employees for Hajj every year at its expense, and this group is selected based on age

The questioner : This questioner is Sudanese and works in the Kingdom. He says, "I am Sudanese and work in one of the institutions. The institution has established the practice of sending some of its employees for Hajj every year at its expense, and this group is selected based on age and length of service in the institution. Is this Hajj valid or not valid?"

The Shaykh : Yes, this Hajj is valid. It is permissible for a person to accept a donation from someone so that the donor can perform the obligatory Hajj with that money. In a case like the one the questioner mentioned, there is generally no risk of arrogance, because it is a company policy that applies equally to so-and-so and so-and-so. However, if the donation is from a specific person to a specific person, we might say that you should not accept it, because there is a fear that he may show arrogance toward you one day and say, "I am the one who gave you what you use to perform the obligatory Hajj," or something similar.
In any case, if a person accepts a donation from someone to perform Hajj with it, there is nothing wrong with it. But as I said, if it is from a specific person, it is better not to accept it. If it is from a company in a general, systematic way, there is nothing wrong with it.
