What is the meaning of the shaking in the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (The Throne of the Most Merciful shook at the death of Sa'd)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the meaning of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Throne of the Most Merciful shook at the death of Sa'd اهتز عرش الرحمن من موت سعد
? What is the meaning of the shaking? We ask for clarification.

The Shaykh : The shaking is linguistically known. Since this shaking, in the first place, has no connection to humans, as the shaking related to humans is known, and its connection is to the Throne of the Most Merciful (Blessed and Exalted is He), this is among the matters of the unseen in which it is not permissible for us, according to our Salafi methodology, to expand or elaborate. Although the intended meaning, rather than the literal meaning, is clear—namely, joy at the arrival of Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) to the highest companion—whether the shaking is merely a metaphor for this meaning or is also a real thing befitting the Throne of the Most Merciful? This second meaning is what aligns with the scientific principles of usul al-fiqh. There are many verses that come under this measure, such as the verse
and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah ...
[Al-Baqarah 2:74]
. Is this reality or metaphor? We say that all of this is reality, because the reality of everything is befitting its existence and its nature. Therefore, it is not fitting for us to expand in interpreting this term literally, as it is related to the matters of the unseen. Yes.
