What is the ruling if the follower (ma'mum) says the closing salam before his imam, whether by mistake or intentionally?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Okay; if one of the worshippers says the salam while the imam has not yet said it; meaning, whether intentionally or by mistake, meaning he preceded the imam in the salam during the final sitting; what is the ruling?

The Shaykh : If they did so out of forgetfulness,
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
, but if it was deliberate, they are sinful, and their prayer is valid.

Another questioner : Professor.

The questioner : Excuse me, if it was by mistake, does he stand up and repeat the salam a second time, or is it finished...?

The Shaykh : No, if he preceded [the imam]... he will continue with the imam until the imam says the salam and he says it with him... the situation?

The questioner : Does that mean he entered the prayer a second time without the takbirat al-ihram?

The Shaykh : That is his exit; we are currently discussing the case where he was in a state of forgetfulness, is that not so?

The questioner : Okay.

The Shaykh : That is not acceptable, that is the reality; because we said regarding that case that if it was intentional, he is sinful.

The questioner : ... a second time.

The Shaykh : Yes, so he is sinful, and despite that, his prayer is valid. As for if he was in a state of forgetfulness, there is no sin on him, and in that case, the previous detail applies: if, when he forgot, he did not stand up and leave, but remembered immediately while still in his seat, he remains following the imam. This exit is not as the Hanafis say, meaning that exiting invalidates the prayer; his exit is by his action, his exit is by his forgetfulness...
