Is it permissible for a person to ask Allah to hasten the punishment for him in this world?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to wish for it, for example, if he sins a lot, he says, "O Lord, if You want to punish me in the Hereafter, then punish me in this world"?

The Shaykh : No, it is not permissible. A hadith has come regarding this in Sahih Muslim, from the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), in which he said something like this phrase. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, meaning that a person cannot bear the punishment of the Hereafter. Why did you not say, as Allah the Exalted said:
Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار
[Al-Baqarah 2:201]
Therefore, that is not permissible.

The questioner : What if a person supplicates against himself?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible, it is not permissible.

The questioner : A person supplicates, meaning ... and then he regrets it regarding himself.

The Shaykh : It may be answered, because there is also a hadith prohibiting supplicating against one's family, lest it coincide with a time of acceptance and be answered.
