Explanation of the Hadith: (May Allah curse the one who eats riba)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So whoever fears Allah and fears being far from the mercy of Allah, let him not be an aid in such forbidden work, as per the previous verse
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression و لا تعاونوا على الإثم و العدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
and as per his saying (peace and blessings be upon him)
May Allah curse the one who eats riba لعن الله آكل الربا
It is the bank, it is the employees
and his agent و موكله
they are its clients
and his scribe و كاتبه
some of the employees in it by text
and his two witnesses و شاهديه
Now, they can do without witnesses through this routine known as writing checks and the like. So if this bank is established on the basis of cooperation in evil, it is not permissible for a Muslim to cooperate in such cooperation. It is exactly like insurance companies. Insurance companies: a car accident happens, a latest model as they say, its price for example fifty thousand, sixty thousand, or more or less. This arrogant person who bought the car, perhaps through a bank also, barely drove a few kilometers and there he causes an accident with it, smashing it to pieces. It is insured. He goes to the insurance company. He had paid one installment, whatever that installment is, perhaps it is one hundred dinars, two hundred dinars, it does not matter to me. The company bought him another car exactly at the same price, fifty thousand, sixty thousand, etc. Where did the company get the fifty thousand, sixty thousand? From its own pocket? No. This is from the subscribers to this insurance company. The company, for example, has a thousand subscribers, and each one pays every month or every year, according to the agreement, the amount mentioned above. One of them may pass years without causing an accident, but he pays, and these monies accumulate with the company. An accident happens like the accident that cost the company fifty thousand or sixty thousand. Where did these fifty or sixty thousand come from? From you, O Zayd, O Bakr, O 'Umar, O you who pay the subscription fee fearing that you will be hit by an accident. So if you are hit by an accident, you imagine that the company is the one bearing the loss. In reality, it is not the one that bore the loss; the group of subscribers to this type of gambling bore the loss. So here there is cooperation like cooperation with the bank
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression و لا تعاونوا على الإثم و العدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
This is one thing, and the second thing, which has precision but most people do not know: why does the Muslim think about the future, lest he be afflicted with something, so he pays a fixed amount to a company, which may be a disbeliever company, or may be a company whose members are Muslims, but their methodology is exactly the methodology of the disbeliever company. They do not forbid and they do not permit. Why does this Muslim not draw near to Allah the Exalted and Majestic, and I do not say as he gives to the company every month or every year a certain amount of the prescribed tax? Why does he not give to the poor and the needy such monies as a means of drawing near to Allah the Exalted and Majestic, and as a means of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him)
Treat your illnesses with charity داووا مرضاكم بالصدقة
So if you draw near to Allah and ask Him to preserve you, your wealth, your car, and what you own, then our Lord the Exalted and Majestic, as He said
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil أمّن يجيب دعوة المضطر إذا دعاه أمن يكشف السوء
[An-Naml 27:62]
The disbelievers do not know these meanings which we call today spiritual and faith-based meanings. They do not know these things; they do not know anything called reliance upon Allah the Exalted and Majestic. Rather, they know reliance upon material causes, upon natural cosmic causes. We must realize in ourselves the great difference between us, as Muslims, and those disbelievers who do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, and do not forbid Allah and His Messenger.
