I read the Burdah poem, and what I know is that the author of this poem is a scholar. Does it harm his creed?

The questioner : And I read the Burdah poem, and what I know is that the author of this poem is a scholar. Does it harm his creed?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. I will recite from this Burdah what makes clear the state of its composer. He was saying, praising the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"O most noble of creation, I have no one to take refuge in but You when the general calamity befalls
If You are not taking my hand on the Day of Resurrection with pardon, then say, 'O slip of the foot!'
For from Your generosity are the world and its sister, and from Your knowledge is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen"

Can a believer say, addressing the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "I have no one to take refuge in but You" when calamities befall? A believer cannot say this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) can never be pleased with this. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) rebuked the man who said to him, "What Allah wills and what You will" and said,
Have you made me a rival to Allah? Rather, it is what Allah alone wills. أجعلتني لله ندا بل ما شاء الله وحده
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 18:1391
how can it be said that he is pleased to be addressed as the only one to turn to when general calamities befall, let alone specific ones?
Can a believer say, addressing the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), "If You are not taking my hand on the Day of Promise with pardon, then say, 'O slip of the foot!'" and placing pardon and retribution in the hands of the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him)? Can a believer say this! Only Allah, Lord of the worlds, possesses this.
And can a rational person imagine that the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him), who came to establish the oneness of Allah, would be pleased to be described as one from whose generosity are the world and its sister! Can a believer be pleased and say, addressing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "And from Your knowledge is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen"! From his knowledge, not all of his knowledge, is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen.
And can a person of sound mind imagine that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), who came to establish the oneness of Allah, would be content to be described as one whose generosity is the world and its harms! Can a believer be content to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is addressed as: "And among your knowledge is the knowledge of the Preserved Tablet and the Pen"? It is among his knowledge, not all of his knowledge, that is the knowledge of the Preserved Tablet and the Pen.
Can a believer say that, when Allah the Exalted says to His Prophet:
Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me."
[Al-An'am 6:50]
So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commanded that it be announced to the assembly until the Day of Resurrection that he does not possess the treasures of Allah, nor does he know the unseen, nor does he claim to be an angel, and that he (peace and blessings be upon him) is a worshipper of Allah, following what Allah revealed to him
I only follow what is revealed to me. إِن أَتَّبِعُ إِلّا ما يوحى إِلَيَّ
[Al-An'am 6:50]
? Can one who has read this verse and others like it say that the Messenger knows the unseen and that among his knowledge is the knowledge of the Preserved Tablet and the Pen? All these matters are disbelief that expels one from the religion. However, we do not say about the man himself that he is a disbeliever, I mean about al-Busiri, because we do not know what led him to this. But we say that these statements are disbelief, and whoever believes them is a disbeliever. We say this in general terms. Therefore, we see that it is obligatory for believers to avoid reading this poem because of the great matters of associating partners with Allah contained in it. Even if it contains verses with good and correct meanings, the truth is accepted from whoever brings it, whoever he may be, and falsehood is rejected from whoever brings it, whoever he may be. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
