A man made a vow, which was a sum of money for one of his relatives, but the relative passed away before the vow-keeper fulfilled his vow. What should he do now with the money?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whomsoever He misleads, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows:
The time has run late for us, out of necessity, in submission to the prevailing divine decree and destiny. Therefore, we hope to be able to answer as many of the questions as possible, so that the situation that occurred in the last session does not repeat, where our brother had dozens of questions, but we were only able to answer two or three of them. Now, we hope to be able to answer most of the questions that have gathered in the hands of our brother Abu al-Harith. This requires me—and I hope my Lord will enable me to do so—to be concise in my answers to the best of my ability, for Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. So please, share what you have.
Al-Halabi : He says,The questioner : A man made a vow, which was a sum of money for one of his relatives, but this relative died before the vow was fulfilled. What should this man, the one who made the vow, do with the money he vowed?

The Shaykh : You mean the person for whom the vow was made died?
Al-Halabi : Yes, the person for whom the vow was made died.

The Shaykh : It should be given to whoever inherits from him.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
