It is an affirmation of the meaning you mentioned, our Shaykh, that there were some from the people of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance for whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) affirmed the Fire, and there were some for whom he affirmed Paradise, such as Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl and others like him. If they had been among those to whom no warner came, neither through his warning nor through his person, they would have been among those who are questioned on the Day of Resurrection. This indicates that the warning did reach them. And Allah the Exalted knows best.
